Coronini is a small village strung along the water between the hills of the Iron Gates. Pensiunea Elis was built for the way people actually spend time here: long mornings by the pool, an afternoon with a rod on the bank, and an evening on the terrace when the light turns copper across the Serbian shore.
Rooms are kept simple and clean rather than styled, and the restaurant cooks what the kitchen knows well. The front desk is open around the clock, the WiFi is free, and there is a garden to sit in when you want somewhere quieter than the pool deck.
The Danube turns amber around eight, and the terrace fills up quietly.
Sunset here is the reason many guests extend a night. The river is wide, the far bank is Serbian hillside, and the sound is mostly water and swallows.
