Outdoor swimming pool with loungers, pergola and the hills behind Pensiunea Elis

River & pools

The outdoor swimming pool is the centre of a stay here. You swim with the river in view rather than a courtyard wall.

Loungers and umbrellas are set out along the sun deck, and the pool bar handles cold drinks and coffee without anyone having to change out of a swimsuit. Below the deck the property keeps its own stretch of Danube bank, which is where the swimming, paddling and fishing happen once the sun moves off the water.

Pool with a view

The outdoor pool sits above the river line, which gives it an open view down the Danube. It is a swimming pool rather than a spa complex: clean water, room to do lengths in the morning, and shade nearby by the middle of the day.

Sun deck and loungers

Loungers and umbrellas line the deck around the water. Towels come from your room, and the deck is the place most guests end up between a morning swim and a late lunch on the terrace.

Pool bar

The pool bar serves drinks and coffee at the water's edge and connects to the restaurant terrace, so an afternoon by the pool can turn into dinner without moving very far.

Fishing from the bank

The Danube here is deep and slow, and fishing is one of the main reasons guests choose Coronini over a coastal stay. You can fish straight from the property's beach area or walk along the shoreline to a quieter spot. Bring your own gear and plan around the licence rules for the stretch you intend to fish.

The private beach area

Below the pool deck, the guesthouse keeps its own beach area on the water. It is a working river bank rather than a resort beach: shade, a place to leave a towel, and easy access for a swim or a paddle. Children of all ages are welcome, and the water is calm on most summer days.

Garden, terrace and open-air bath

Away from the pool there is a garden and a terrace for the part of the afternoon when nobody wants direct sun. The property also has a public bath and an open-air bath, which stay pleasant late into the evening once the heat drops off the water.

Slow days by the water

Pool in the morning, the beach area or a rod in the afternoon, and the terrace once the sun drops behind the hills. Nothing here is scheduled, which is the point.
